Yvonne June Smith, 69, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, at her home.

She was born March 16, 1929, in Los Angeles, Calif., daughter of David Otis and Cordelia Dudley Pettit. She and Thomas C. Smith were married June 25, 1949, in St. Louis.

Smith had been a nurse aide at nursing homes in St. Charles, retiring in 1981.

Survivors include her husband of Fallon, Nev.; four sons, Thomas Smith of San Diego, Calif., James Smith of Berkeley, Allen Smith of Bowling Green, Brian Smith of St. Louis; five daughters, Catherine Mann of St. Louis, Yvonne Wyatt of Piedmont, Susan Smith and Ginger Smith of Cape Girardeau, Barbara Bird of Maryland Heights; three brothers, Alan Parker, George and Jerry Meyers of St. Louis; 17 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. Thursday.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Cy Smith officiating.
