CHAFFEE -- Anthony "Tony" Garito, 84, of Chaffee died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born Dec. 7, 1914, in Norwich, N.Y., son of Angelo and Grace Natoli Garito. He and Helen Stubbs were married Dec. 21, 1947. She died June 3, 1993...

CHAFFEE -- Anthony "Tony" Garito, 84, of Chaffee died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Dec. 7, 1914, in Norwich, N.Y., son of Angelo and Grace Natoli Garito. He and Helen Stubbs were married Dec. 21, 1947. She died June 3, 1993.

Garito owned and operated Garito Liquor Package Store from 1948-64. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and its Men's Club.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was a lieutenant colonel at the time of discharge.

Survivors include a son, Robert Garito of Lauderhill, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

There is no service. Burial will be in Union Park Cemetery.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel at Chaffee is in charge of arrangements.
