Victor L. Aufdenberg, age 84, of Jackson passed away Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999, at the Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born July 30, 1914, at Tilsit, Mo., the son of Louis and Hulda Werner Aufdenberg.

He married Mabel Mangels Oct. 2, 1938, and she survives.

Also surviving is their daughter, Vicki Lee Outman of Jackson; a granddaughter, Kelley Brown of Jackson; a grandson, Jamie Outman of Kansas City, Mo.; and a grandson, Kris Outman of Jackson, Mo.; two great-grandsons, Adam Brown and Parker Outman and two great-granddaughters, Olivia Brown and Paeton Outman; one brother, Walter Aufdenberg of Jackson.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

Aufdenberg has been an active member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson for many years.

He served in the Army during World War II in the Phillipines from 1942 to 1946 and was a member of the American Legion in Jackson Post 158.

He worked for the former International Shoe Co. in Jackson for 43 years, retiring in 1978.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, and funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral chapel.

Rev. David Johnson will officiate, with burial in the Russell Heights Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the St. Paul Lutheran Expansion Fund at Jackson.
