FRIEDHEIM -- John F. Hahs, 86, of Friedheim died Friday, Feb. 19, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born March 29, 1912, near Sedgewickville, son of James F. and Rosetta Friese Hahs. He married Opal Deimund on Dec. 14, 1945. She died March 23, 1994.

He was a member of Sargents Chapel Lutheran Church. He was a farmer and had worked at the former IXL Handle Factory in Jackson and also the Lutesville Pallet Co. in Marble Hill. He retired in 1974.

He is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Hahs and Dorothy Bollinger, both of Jackson, and Kathy Gibbar of Perryville; two sisters, Dessie Friese of Atmore, Ala., and Clara Dee Voyes of Oak Ridge; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, two infant sons and a brother.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Albert Nyland officiating.

Burial will be at Sargents Chapel Cemetery.
