NEW MADRID -- William Watson "Junior" Masterson, 77, of New Madrid died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Sept. 22, 1921, at New Madrid, son of John W. "Jack" and Florence Lee Mast Masterson. He and Pearlene Nance were married Feb. 16, 1958, at New Madrid.

Masterson was a lifelong resident of New Madrid, and member of the United Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Sandra O'Bannon of Emporia, Va., Patricia Masterson of St. Louis; two sons, Richard and William Masterson of New Madrid; four sisters, Geraldine Rodgers of Cape Girardeau, Alice Barron of Salt Lake City, Utah, Carolyn Vent of St. Louis, Nadine Vent of New Madrid; two brothers, Jimmy Masterson of Bell Chase, La., Paul Masterson of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, a brother, and a sister.

Friends may call at Richards Funeral Home after 5 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the United Pentecostal Church, with the Rev. Orvil McKinney officiating. Burial will be in Mounds Park Cemetery.
