CALVIN HOOK

PERRYVILLE -- Calvin Clair Hook, 87, of Litchfield, Ill., died Wednesday, March 3, 1999, at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.

He was born Oct. 1, 1911, in Perryville, son of John G. and Barbara Amberger Hook. He and Ethel Dora Turrentine were married Jan. 7, 1933, in Waterloo, Ill. She died July 31, 1997.

Hook was a welder with Molony Electric in St. Louis. He also had worked at Wepco in Litchfield, Fiat-Allis, and had farmed. He was a member of Barnett Christian Church in Barnett, Ill.

Survivors include a son, Theodore "Ted" Hook of Litchfield; three daughters, Anita Wolff of Litchfield, Claire Gebelhardt of St. Louis, Jean Yanaga of Kimball, Neb.; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Arthur Buell will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Ridge Cemetery at Honey Bend, Ill.
