GLADYS J. GOWIN

OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Gladys J. Gowin, 66, of Olive Branch died Tuesday, March 23, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center.

She was born July 30, 1932, in Chicago, daughter of William and Lela Lewis Simpkins. She and Terry Gowin were married Oct. 4, 1950.

Gowin was a member of Lake Milligan Baptist Church, where she served as treasurer and pianist.

Survivors include her husband, three sons, Tony Gowin of McClure, Tim Gowin of Chicago Ridge and Tom Gowin of Olive Branch; a brother, Paul Simpkins of Bethalto; two half-brothers, Tom Simpkins of Corpus Christi, Texas and Norman Simpkins of northern California and six grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms.

Funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Verlee Eaker, Darrell Neathery and Jerry Gowin officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens.
