RUTH MULCAHY
JACKSON -- Ruth U. Mulcahy, 93, of Jackson, and formerly of East Cape Girardeau and Cairo in Illinois, died Saturday, April 3, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born Feb. 12, 1906, in Carterville, Ill., daughter of Hosea and Mary Walbert Upshaw. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Cairo, the Daughters of Isabella, and the Egyptian Country Club...JACKSON -- Ruth U. Mulcahy, 93, of Jackson, and formerly of East Cape Girardeau and Cairo in Illinois, died Saturday, April 3, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Feb. 12, 1906, in Carterville, Ill., daughter of Hosea and Mary Walbert Upshaw. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Cairo, the Daughters of Isabella, and the Egyptian Country Club.
She was a retired registered nurse for the former St. Mary's Hospital in Cairo and a member of the Patrons Club of Magnolia Manor in Cairo.

Survivors include a sister, Kathryn Salkeld of Chehalis, Wash., five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, daughter and sister.
Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo from 5 to 7 p.m. today, with a rosary at 7.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Jerome Fortenberry officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Villa Ridge
