PARMA -- Dorothy Mitchell, 78, of Parma died Tuesday, April 6, 1999, at Dexter Memorial Hospital in Dexter.
She was born March 16, 1921, at Parma, daughter of Joe and Lulu Roberts Ramsey. She and John Thomas Mitchell were married July 17, 1947, in Piggott, Ark. He died July 23, 1960.
Mitchell had been a school cook, and was the last charter member of First Baptist Church of Parma.
Survivors include a daughter, Sheila Carson of Malden; two sons, Charles and Steven Mitchell of Parma; a stepson, John Mitchell of England; three sisters, Dimble Thesher of Memphis, Tenn., Syble Corlew of Malden, Eule Rhodes of Austin, Texas; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter and three brothers.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Parma after 4:30 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jody Duncan officiating. Burial will be in Parma Cemetery.
