EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral for Geneva B. Thurman of East Prairie will be held at 2 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Jimmy Allen will officiate. Burial will be in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.

Thurman, 69, died Sunday, April 4, 1999, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born March 2, 1930, in East Prairie, daughter of James and Luona Manley Buttrey. She married Melvin Thurman.

Thurman was a member of First Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include her husband; her mother of Sebring, Fla.; five sisters, Mildred Allen and Evelyn Carter of East Prairie, Margaret Gerhardt of Paris, Tenn., Bessie Brock of Avon Park, Fla., and Cledith Hise of West Plains.

She was preceded in death by her father, a brother and a sister.
