Gladys M. Mendenhall, 93, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, April 7, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. She was born Sept. 12, 1905, in Marion County, Kansas, daughter of J.A. and Lydia Heyland Graham. She and C.D. Mendenhall were married Nov. 15, 1925, in Liberal, Kan. He died in October 1971...

Gladys M. Mendenhall, 93, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, April 7, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born Sept. 12, 1905, in Marion County, Kansas, daughter of J.A. and Lydia Heyland Graham. She and C.D. Mendenhall were married Nov. 15, 1925, in Liberal, Kan. He died in October 1971.

Mendenhall lived in Milwaukee, Wis., from 1937-68 and worked at Roth and Taplin Real Estate Co. She moved to Rogers, Ark., and then to Cape Girardeau in July 1976 to help open Mr. Muffler Inc. with her son. She retired in 1997.

She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Cape Girardeau, Wisconsin Board of Realtors and Business and Professional Women's Association, Eastern Star in Liberal, and was active in the Wisconsin Republican Party.

Survivors include a son, Graham Mendenhall of Perryville; and two granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by a brother.

There is no visitation.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Miles White will officiate.

Interment will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Rogers City Cemetery at Rogers.
