Delbert G. Masterson, 78, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, April 8, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 19, 1920, in Cape Girardeau County, son of Gilbert D. and Lula M. Clementz Masterson. He and Juanita F. LaCroix were married May 2, 1942, in Cape Girardeau.

Masterson worked for Bill Hollenbeck Co., and then was service supervisor at Sears 20 years. He retired in May 1984.

He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, American Legion Post 63, and St. Mark Masonic Lodge 93 AF&AM.

Masterson was a founding and charter member of Little League Baseball in Cape Girardeau. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, William G. Masterson of St. Louis, Warren Masterson of Scott County; a brother, William E. Masterson of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, two brothers, two sisters, and a grandson.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 5-9 p.m. Sunday. Parish prayers will be at 8:30.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the chapel, with Msgr. Richard Rolwing officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
