DEXTER -- Funeral for Willard D. Cross of Dexter will be held at 1 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. The Rev. Clifford Wray will officiate. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery.

Cross, 87, died Wednesday, April 21, 1999, at his home.

He was born Jan. 30, 1912, at Greenville, son of Robert and Laura Medlin Cross. He and Thelma Meador were married Nov. 28, 1931, at Bloomfield.

Cross moved to Dexter in 1959 from Bernie. He had farmed and was also a machine operator at IXL Manufacturing Co. in Bernie. He was a member of First General Baptist Church in Bernie.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Junior Cross of Dexter; a daughter, Lucille Vaughn of Dexter; a brother, Winford Cross of Ozark; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers.
