MORLEY -- Milton Thomas Hawkins, 75, of Morley died Friday, April 23, 1999, at Hunter Acres Caring Center in Sikeston.

He was born May 8, 1923, at Commerce, son of Milton Joseph and Ida Lux Hawkins. He and Ruby Janet Curnell were married Nov. 28, 1954, in Tunica, Miss. She preceded him in death.

Hawkins was a mate on a riverboat with Mid South Towing Co. in Metropolis, Ill. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include seven sons, Stephen and Matthew Hawkins of Morley, Michael and Jerry Hawkins of Sikeston, Scott Hawkins of Tempe, Ariz., Mark Hawkins of Arlington, Texas, and Troy Estes III of Benton.

Also survivng are six daughters, Roxanne Kuhn of Loganville, Ga., Leslie Barrett of Fredericktown, Kathy Dunaway of Wickliffe, Ky., Semona Penrod and Marla Stephenson of Morley, Marcy Estes of Risco; and 33 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandchild.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton after 5 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. William Dickey officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
