OAK RIDGE -- Bertrand Holloway, 78, of Oak Ridge died Sunday, April 25, 1999, at his home.
He was born June 6, 1920, in Opp, Ala., son of Joseph Monroe and Olivia White Holloway. He and Lola Earnshaw were married June 1, 1941, in San Francisco, Calif.
Holloway served with the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force 24 years, retiring in 1966. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
After retiring from the military he worked in San Jose, Calif. He moved to Oak Ridge in December 1998. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Bert Holloway Jr. of Oak Ridge, John Holloway of Bedford Park, Ill., Richard Holloway of San Jose; a daughter, Deborah Woods of Stockton, Calif.; two brothers, Finley Holloway of Odenville, Ala., Glen Holloway of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; a sister, Annie Crocker of Weaver, Ala.; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, four brothers, and four sisters.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Friends may also call at Oak Hill Memorial Park and Mortuary in San Jose from 4-8 p.m. May 4.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. May 5 at the mortuary. Burial will be in Oak Hill Memorial Park.
