ANNA, Ill. -- Funeral for Mary Elizabeth Diefenbach of Anna will be held at 1 p.m. today at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna. The Rev. Paul Weber will officiate. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m.

Diefenbach, 86, died Saturday, Aug. 7, 1999, at City Care Center.

She was born April 23, 1913, in Anna, daughter of Harry and Grace Smith Corzine. She and Ernest C. Diefenbach were married Aug. 12, 1938, in Anna. He died May 16, 1995.

Diefenbach had been a teacher in several Union County elementary schools. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Anna.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Diefenbach of Anna, Phillip Diefenbach of East Moline; three grandsons; two great-grandchildren; and two stepgrandsons.

She was preceded in death by a son, a grandson, and a sister.
