CAIRO, Ill. -- Frank Green Sr., 86, of Cairo died Thursday, Aug. 5, 1999, at Daystar Care Center.

He was born Nov. 12, 1912, in Morgan City, Miss., son of John and Savannah Green. He married Cardelia Tate, who preceded him in death.

Green had been an automobile mechanic.

Survivors include three sons, Frank Green Jr. of Cairo, Marion Green of Mounds, Charles Green of Carbondale; two daughters, Mattie Woods and Helen Green of Cairo; 17 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter.

Friends may call at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Cairo from 3-5 p.m. Friday.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church, with Anthony Reeves officiating. Burial will be in Beechwood Cemetery at Mounds.

Sparks Funeral Home of Charleston, Mo., is in charge of arrangements.
