FRANCIS SHAFER

Francis Ruth Shafer, 82 of Charleston died Saturday, Aug. 14, 1999, at the Charleston Manor Nursing Facility.

She was born Aug. 29, 1916, in Reyno, Ark., to William and Estelle Looney Barnett. She married Jay Shafer Sept. 4, 1936.

Shafer was of the Methodist faith. She worked in St. Louis as an accountant until she retired in 1970.

She is survived by four cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a son.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, with the Rev. Rick White officiating. The burial will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
