GIPSY -- Hobert E. Griffin, 78, of Gipsy died Saturday, Aug. 21, 1999, at his home. He was born on Nov. 7, 1920, at Omage, Ark., son of Joe and Arkie Horton Griffin. In 1946, he married Edna Lee Griffin at Leslie, Ark. She died on March 20, 1994. He was a retired farmer. He was a veteran of the Army, serving during World War II. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and was of the Pentecostal faith...

GIPSY -- Hobert E. Griffin, 78, of Gipsy died Saturday, Aug. 21, 1999, at his home.

He was born on Nov. 7, 1920, at Omage, Ark., son of Joe and Arkie Horton Griffin.

In 1946, he married Edna Lee Griffin at Leslie, Ark. She died on March 20, 1994.

He was a retired farmer. He was a veteran of the Army, serving during World War II. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and was of the Pentecostal faith.

He is survived by a son, Roger Griffin of Gipsy; a brother, Hubert A. Griffin of Springdale, Ark.; two sisters, Willie Lee Griffin of Sikeston and Jimmie McGee of West Memphis, Ark.; and a grandchild.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.

Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

The Rev. Wayne Page will officiate. Burial will follow in the Berrong Cemetery at Gipsy.
