Loy E. Stone, age 76, of Chaffee, Mo. passed away on Thursday, August 19, 1999, at St. Louis University Hospital. He was a retired custodian. He was born on July 19, 1923 in Bollinger County, Mo., the son of Hessie Edward Stone and Blanche Edith Conrad. He married Norma Kathleen Strahan on April 17, 1953 in Hernando, Miss. Loy E. Stone, age 76, of Chaffee, Mo. passed away on Thursday, August 19, 1999, at St. Louis University Hospital. He was a retired custodian.

He was born on July 19, 1923 in Bollinger County, Mo., the son of Hessie Edward Stone and Blanche Edith Conrad. He married Norma Kathleen Strahan on April 17, 1953 in Hernando, Miss. They later were divorced. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Chaffee, Mo.

He is survived by his devoted companion, Clara Mae Hefner of Chaffee; two step-sons, Dennis Strahan of Benton, Mo., Jesse Cunio of Grantsboro, N.C.; one daughter Kitty Kathleen Stone of Carlyle, Ill.; six brothers, Leon Stone of Jackson, Mo., Bill Stone, Millersville, Mo., Jack Stone of Oak Ridge, Mo., Donnie Stone of Daisy, Mo., J.C. Stone of Cape and Roy Lee Stone of also of Cape Girardeau; two sister, Velma Dobbs of Chaffee, Mo., and Wanda Lee Sparks of Jackson, Mo.; one Granddaughter, Rachel(Schiwitz) Crumbey-Keyesport, Ill.; six step-grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother and one step-daughter.

Visitation will be at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 22, 1999 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, Mo. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 23, 1999, at 10:00 a.m. at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel. Rev. Watis Harrell will officiate. Burial will follow at Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee , Mo.
