MARIE SMITH

BLOOMFIELD -- Funeral for Marie Lee Smith of Bloomfield will be held at 1 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance. The Rev. Edsel Pruett will officiate. Burial will be in Williams Cemetery at Perkins.

Smith, 85, died Thursday, Aug. 26, 1999, at Advance Nursing Center.

She was born July 24, 1914, in Columbus, Ky., daughter of Albert and Annie Weatherford Johnson. She and Hiram Smith were married April 23, 1928, in Piggott, Ark. He died Oct. 7, 1977.

Smith was a member of Randles Pentecostal Church, and American Legion Auxiliary 158 in Jackson.

Survivors include two sons, John Smith of Bloomfield, Hiram Smith of Marion, Ark.; three daughters, Margaret Mier of Dexter, Esther Cook of Jackson, Ellen Lowe of Bloomfield; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, two sons, five brothers, and four sisters.
