DAVID CONRAD

SEDGEWICKVILLE -- Mr. David Dean Conrad, 75, of Sedgewickville passed away Friday, July 23, 1999, at the St. Francis Medical Center after a five-week stay in the hospital.

He was born Jan. 9, 1924, at Sedgewickville, Mo., the son of Julius and Myrtle Smith Conrad. He married the former Jean Bollinger on June 1, 1946, at Jackson, and she survives residing on the family farm.

Also surviving are two sons, Terry Conrad of Patton and Marty Conrad of Daisy, Mo.; two daughters, Donna Allen of Jackson Route and Debbie Poindexter of Marble Hill, Mo.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant sister and a son.

Mr. Conrad has resided on the family farm all his life and graduated from Patton High School. He was ordained as an Elder in the Presbyterian Church of Whitewater and served as the church treasurer for 40 years.

In 1988 they began attending the Sedgewickville United Methodist Church.

He was a former Associate Commissioner of Bollinger County (Northern Dist.) and was serving during the time the present Bollinger County jail was constructed. He was a former ASCS Committeeman for Bollinger County and had served on the Meadow Heights School Board for six years.

He was a Farm bureau member and former charter member of the Patton Lions Club and had assisted in the formation of the Patton Fire Dept.

Visitation was after 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson and will be from 8:30 a.m. today until funeral time at 2 p.m. The Rev. Michael Davis will officiate. Burial will be in the Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson.

The family request memorials be given to the American Heart Association or the Sedgewickville United Methodist Church Recreation Center building fund.
