ALMA LEGRAND

CHAFFEE -- Alma LeGrand, 76, of Chaffee died Saturday, May 29, 1999, at St. Anthony Medical Center in St. Louis.

She was born July 10, 1922, in Kelso, daughter of Albert and Bertha Heuring Schwartz. She married Clarence LeGrand on Sept. 3, 1940. He died Oct. 3, 1964.

She was a retired nurse assistant from Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and Daughters of St. Ambrose in Chaffee.

Survivors include two sons, Joseph LeGrand of St. Louis and Douglas LeGrand of Chaffee; five daughters, Mary Ann James of Marble Hill, Germaine LeGrand of Benton, Lavern Kiefer of Advance, Helen Harris of Old Appleton and Rita Mayfield of Cape Girardeau; two sisters-in-law, Johanna Schwartz and Joann Schwartz, both of Scott City; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, a grandson and two brothers.

Funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. today at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, with the Rev. Ralph Duffner officiating. Burial will be in St. Ambrose Catholic Cemetery.
