Funeral for Paul L. Ebaugh of Cape Girardeau will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Grace United Methodist Church. Dr. Larry Gallamore will officiate. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

Ebaugh, 78, died Monday, June 7, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 9, 1920, in Baltimore, Md., son of Paul L. and Edna May Whalen Ebaugh. He and Gayle Woodside were married May 29, 1943, at Parma.

Ebaugh was president of Cape Construction Co. Inc. from 1955 to 1972. He joined Centerre Bank of Cape Girardeau in 1973 and served as the bank's executive vice president and chairman of the board. He became president of Amerifirst Bank in 1989.

He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, director of Chateau Girardeau Resident Council, president of Chateau Girardeau Foundation, trustee emeritus of Southeast Missouri Hospital and an honorary member of the Lions Club.

Ebaugh served as president of Pipeline Contractors Association of America and was made an honorary member in 1976. He also had been a member of the National Labor Negotiating Committee.

He served as president of Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce, Southeast Missouri Hospital Foundation and United Way Board of Directors. He served as director of Missouri State Chamber of Commerce, Cape Retirement Community Inc. and Lions Club.

Ebaugh served as general chairman of fund drives for United Way, Mental Health Association, Boy Scouts, Family Learning Center and Leukemia Association.

He was a former member of Southeast Missouri State University Foundation, Missouri Industrial Development Board and Missouri Highway Transportation Committee.

Ebaugh served with the Corps of Engineers during World War II.

Survivors are his wife; two sons, Paul Ebaugh Jr. and Rick Ebaugh, both of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Jackie Masters of Sikeston, Debbie Darby of Little Rock, Ark.; and 12 grandchildren.
