DUDLEY -- Carl Freddie Dillinger, 68, of Dudley died Sunday, June 20, 1999, at his home.

He was born June 15, 1931, at New Madrid, son of Bill and Lela Lawrence Dillinger. He and Gertrude Hale were married Sept. 23, 1950, in Piggott, Ark.

Dillinger had lived at Dudley the past 50 years. He had owned and operated a sawmill.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Carl Dillinger Jr. of Wappapello; five daughters, Arlessa Russell of Dudley, Lora Sissum and Catherine Rider, both of Wappapello, Sharlette Kirkman and Belinda Hribovsek, both of Poplar Bluff.

Also surviving are nine brothers, Cecil and Bob Dillinger, both of Naylor, Bill Dillinger of Wappapello, Randal and Charles Dillinger, both of Harviell, Lloyd Sandlin of Corning, Ark., Raymond and Lorenzo Sandlin, both of Poplar Bluff, and Winford Whitaker of Advance.

Other survivors include eight sisters, Betty Hayman of Bertrand, June Stamps and Carolyn Rainbolt, both of Harviell, Glenda Dillinger of Fairdealing, Ollie Gaultney of North Carolina, Melba Bryant, Mary Dugger and Darlene Parks, all of Dudley; 12 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Roscoe Gray and Vernon Self officiating. Burial will be in Dudley Cemetery.
