JACKSON -- Alberta Marie "Bert" Cole, 75, of Jackson died Wednesday, May 5, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Aug. 19, 1923, in St. Louis, daughter of Martin L. and Tessie Kynion Tilley. She and Henry R. Cole were married Feb. 16, 1951, in Osceola, Ark.

Cole was a 1940 graduate of Central High School in Cape Girardeau.

She was a clerk and underwriter with General American Insurance Co. in St. Louis. She was a member of First Baptist Church and a Sunday School class.

Survivors include her husband; a son, John Massa of Lamar; two daughters, Carolyn Squalia of Corpus Christi, Texas, Sharon "Sherry" Reed of Buchanan, Tenn.; a brother, Vern Tilley of Jacksonville, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Revs. Kevin Roberts and Brian Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
