JONESBORO, Ill. -- Esther K. Grammer, 86, of Jonesboro died Friday, May 7, 1999, at the City Care Center in Cobden.

Grammer was born April 11, 1913, in Union County, daughter of Silas and Delia Nicolaides Leach. She and Charles Grammer were married June 13, 1931, at Cobden.

She was a member of the Eastern Star Lodge in Grand Tower and a member of the Nazarene Church in Anna. Grammer served as a postal clerk at the Grand Tower Post Office for several years.

Grammer is survived by her husband; a daughter, Karolyn K. Bishop, formerly of Grand Tower; two sons, Bill Grammer of Milford, Ohio, and Mike Grammer of Plant City, Fla.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mabel Wendt of Atlanta, Mich., and Dona Gregory of Irving, Texas.

She was preceded in death by a brother, three sisters, an infant son and two infant grandsons.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hileman & Parr Funeral Services at Jonesboro.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. John Cripps officiating.

Burial will follow at the Walker Hill Cemetery.
