JACKSON -- Lucille E. Welker, 87, of Jackson died Sunday, May 16, 1999, at Jackson Manor Nursing Home.

She was born Nov. 3, 1911, near Morley, daughter of Jesse Monroe and Sylvia C. Cotner Dunn. She and Lafie M. Welker were married June 14, 1930. He died March 29, 1975.

She worked at the Sliker Box Company and the international Box Factories in St. Louis. In 1941 she and her husband moved to Leamon and then to Jackson in 1970. Welker worked at the former Dorsa Dress Factory in Jackson.

Survivors include a son, M. LeRoy Welker of Springfield; a sister, Evelyn Jackson of Fenton; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, three brothers and four sisters.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Grant Gillard officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Fruitland.
