PERRYVILLE -- John J. Traut, 68, of Perryville died Sunday, May 16, 1999, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Perryville.

Traut was born March 15, 1931, at Philadelphia, Pa., son of Thomas G. and Edna Still Traut. He and Dorothyann Schmidt were married June 26, 1954, at Perryville.

He was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Traut served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Post 133 and AMVETS Post 94.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, John M. Traut and Glenn A. Traut, both of Perryville; a daughter, Pat Martin of Perryville; and three grandchildren.

Traut was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today at Young and Sons Chapel. American Legion Wake service will be at 7 p.m.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Kevin Fausz. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
