BENTON -- Etta Pauline "Jackie" Brock, 81, of Benton died Monday, May 17, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born July 27, 1917, at Sikeston, daughter of William and Nellie Pray Channing. She and Wade Spencer Brock were married Nov. 9, 1935, at New Madrid. He died Dec. 31, 1991...

BENTON -- Etta Pauline "Jackie" Brock, 81, of Benton died Monday, May 17, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born July 27, 1917, at Sikeston, daughter of William and Nellie Pray Channing. She and Wade Spencer Brock were married Nov. 9, 1935, at New Madrid. He died Dec. 31, 1991.

Brock had been a pre-school teacher at Delta Area Equal Opportunity Center. She was a member of Benton United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Tom Brock of Sikeston, Danny Brock of Benton; five daughters, Betty Weible of Crystal City, Sally Hoffmeister of St. Louis, Kay Burford of Chicago, Jacquline Gouvreau of Festus, and Deborah Brock-Williams of Spiro, Okla.

Also surviving are two brothers, Lawrence Pattengill of St. Louis, Lee Pattengill of Sikeston; five sisters, Alice Hopper and Evelyn Zimmerman of Cape Girardeau, Gladys McCullum of St. Louis, Ruby Hitt of Oak Ridge, Marie Nettles of Yuma, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandchild.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton after 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Bennie Wilsey officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley.
