MARBLE HILL -- Hester Mae Shrum, 91, of Marble Hill died Monday, May 17, 1999, at Bond Nursing Care Center.
She was born June 17, 1907, at Marquand, daughter of Emanuel and Rose Ann Biffle Lorance. She and Thomas Benjamin Franklin Shrum were married Aug. 2, 1936. He died Aug. 28, 1976.
Shrum wrote the Tallent community news for Banner Press many years. She was a member of Liberty Congregational Methodist Church near Marquand.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Shrum of Marble Hill, Loy Shrum of Millersville; a brother, Marvin Lorance of Fredericktown; three grandsons; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Patton from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Liberty Church. The Rev. Kirby Grindstaff will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
