JONESBORO, Ill. -- Arthur John Dodson, 71, of Jonesboro died Wednesday, May 19, 1999, at his home in Jonesboro.
He was born July 11, 1927, at Alto Pass, Ill, the son of Martin and Myrtle Parker Dodson.
He was a retired welder, a veteran of WWII, a life member of the Carroll P. Foster Post 3455 of the VFW in Anna and a member of the Illinois Sheriff's Association.
He is survived by a son, Larry Wayne Dodson of Anna; three daughters, Sharon Barringer of Buncombe, Sandra Moore of Wolf Lake and Vickie Gore of Dongola; a brother, Claude Dodson of St. Louis, Mo.; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today at the Lutz & Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Eldridge Williams officiating.
Burial will be at the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Buncombe. Graveside military honors will be provided by the Carroll P. Foster Post 3455 of the VFW in Anna.
