He and Joan Minor were married March 11, 1961, at Chicago. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in the Pacific theater during World War II...

THEBES, Ill. -- Louis E. Cook, 68, of Thebes died Friday, May 21, 1999, at his home.

He was born Oct. 23, 1930, at Springfield, Ohio, son of Thomas A. and Susie P. Bersinger Cook.

He and Joan Minor were married March 11, 1961, at Chicago.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in the Pacific theater during World War II.

He worked in the U.S. Agriculture Department for 19 years before retiring in 1993. He also did carpentry work around the Thebes area for many years.

Survivors include two brothers, Bill Cook of Lancaster, Ohio, and Thomas Cook of Luckey, Ohio; two sisters, Martha Nielsen of San Jose, Calif., and Evelyn Stevens of Phoenix, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.

There is no service or visitation.
