SIKESTON -- William Norman West, 79, of Sikeston died Sunday, May 23, 1999, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 3, 1919, in Cape Girardeau, son of Vernie and Cora Blanche Oliver West.

West was a Linotype operator and proofreader many years at the San Francisco Journal Newspaper.

Survivors include a brother, Lloyd West of Cape Girardeau; three half brothers, Gary and David West of Cape Girardeau, Jimmy West of St. Louis; five half sisters, Madeline Hurst of Marble Hill, Wanda Ventress of Juneau, Alaska, Karen Arnold of St. Louis, Phyllis Heise of Cape Girardeau, and Jane Nunnally of Arnold.

There is no visitation or service.

Nunnelee Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
