SIKESTON -- R.T. "Rooster" Woods, 72, died Wednesday, May 26, 1999, at the Sikeston Health Care.

He was born Nov. 18, 1926, at Lambert, Miss., son of Felton and Annie Belle Henderson Woods.

He moved to Missouri in 1945 and was a farmer. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include four daughters, Dora Mae Woods and Rutha Lee Woods, both of Memphis, Tenn., Theresa Franklin and Lakeshia Price, both of Muncie, Ind.; a sister, Katherine Woods of West Helena, Ark., and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Also surviving is a niece, Mary Ann Blissett of Oran, who had been his guardian.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.

Visitation will be Monday from noon until service time at Travelers Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Sikeston.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Sylvester Morgan officiating. Burial will be in Smith-Westend Cemetery in Sikeston.
