VERNA BLUE

DELTA -- Verna Marie Blue, 62, of Delta died Friday, May 28, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

Blue was born Nov. 22, 1936, at Delta, daughter of Oliver Amos and Connie Marie Fox Snider. She married Paul James Blue July 8, 1953. He died Jan. 3, 1999.

She was a retired sewing machine operator from Thorngate Ltd. at Chaffee. Blue was a member of the First Baptist Church at Chaffee.

She is survived by her father; four sons, Paul Blue of Arbor, Larry and Jimmie Blue, both of Delta, Kenneth Blue of Chaffee; two daughters, Pam Keys of Bell City and Jo Ann Standridge of Morehouse; two brothers, Jim Snider of Chaffee and Oliver Snider of Oak Ridge; a sister, Carman Brown of Charleston; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Blue was also preceded in death by her mother, a brother and sister.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Monday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel at Chaffee.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Watis Harrell officiating. Burial will follow at Kenyon Cemetery at Delta.
