FRED MAYFIELD

EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral for Fred H. Mayfield of East Prairie will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Mike Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in East Prairie Memorial Park.

Mayfield, 52, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 1999, at East Prairie Nursing Center.

He was born Sept. 11, 1947, in Ridgely, Tenn., son of Fred H. and Fair Mae Davis Mayfield. He and Martha Glenn Wasson were married March 5, 1971.

Mayfield was a retired farmer, and lived in Mississippi County most of his life.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Joe Mayfield of East Prairie; a daughter, Tonya Sloan of East Prairie; two brothers, Billy Mayfield of Mayfield, Ky., Jerry Mayfield of Union City, Tenn.; a sister, June Atkinson of East Prairie; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
