RICHARD EDWARDS

SIKESTON -- Richard "Dick" Edwards, 61, of Sikeston died Monday, Nov. 15, 1999, at his home. He was born Oct. 20, 1938, at Bell City, son of Thomas and Ruth A. Friedlein Edwards. He and Joyce E. Evans were married Nov. 26, 1960, at Sikeston.

Edwards was general manager of the Matthews Cotton Co. from 1971 until September of this year. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of Sikeston Masonic Lodge No. 310. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston and had served in the Missouri Army National Guard.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Richard Evans Jr. and Chris Evans, both of Alton, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. Graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Forest Hills Cemetery at Morley, with the Rev. Dr. Jim Davis officiating.
