HOUSTON -- James William Minton, 65, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999, in Houston, Texas. Born Feb. 9, 1934, in Cape Girardeau, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert D. Minton. Minton graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 1955. He worked for Conoco for many years before becoming self-employed in the direct-mail sales industry. He retired in 1998...

HOUSTON -- James William Minton, 65, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999, in Houston, Texas.

Born Feb. 9, 1934, in Cape Girardeau, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert D. Minton.

Minton graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 1955. He worked for Conoco for many years before becoming self-employed in the direct-mail sales industry. He retired in 1998.

Survivors include his parents of Jackson; wife, Linda of Houston; a brother, Robert C. Minton of Jackson; four sons; three daughters; five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son.

Memorial services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home in Houston.
