PORTAGEVILLE -- Vincent Henry Recker, 87, of Portageville died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 1999, at his home.

He was born Aug. 31, 1912, in Portageville, son of August "Gus" and Francis Recker. He and Ruth Clover Branham were married in 1934.

Recker was a member of St. Eustachius Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Edward Recker of Sun Lakes, Ariz.; two daughters, Mary Baker of Festus, Barbara Johnson of Dyersburg, Tenn.; a brother, Bernard Recker of Portageville; five sisters, Betty East of Florida, Rose Dacus, JoAnn Eggiman and Tillie Recker of Cape Girardeau, Audrey Haynes of Florida; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville after 6 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Eustachius Church, with the Rev. Roger Leveillee officiating. Burial will be in Portageville Cemetery.
