William R. McFerron, 71, of Laporte, Ind., died Friday Dec. 17, 1999, at LaPorte Hospital, following a 2-month illness. William R. McFerron, 71, of Laporte, Ind., died Friday Dec. 17, 1999, at LaPorte Hospital, following a 2-month illness.

He was born May 14, 1928, in Cape Girararf Beechwood Men's Club, Polish Falcons of America Nest 564 and the U.S. Navy Reserves.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Michael J. McFerron and Timothy W. McFerron, both of LaPorte; two daughters, Christine LaFerney of Portageville, and Jennifer Banic of LaPorte; a brother, Harold McFerron of Hudson, Fla.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, nine brothers, and a sister.

A private service will be held at a later date for the family.

Essling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
