THEBES, Ill. -- Ruby King, 89, of Thebes died Friday, Jan. 2, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Aug. 9, 1908, in Alexander County, daughter of Clarence and Myrtle McDaniel Brown. She married William E. King on March 5, 1934. He died Oct. 28, 1990.

She was a member of Rock Springs Free Will Baptist Church at Thebes.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms and after 1 p.m. Sunday at Rock Springs Free Will Baptist Church in Thebes. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Thebes.
