BETTY SUMMERS

DEXTER -- Funeral service for Betty V. Summers of Acorn Ridge will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Kenneth Gaines will officiate, with burial in Hollis Cemetery near Acorn Ridge.

Summers, 93, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 1998, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Oct. 19, 1904, in Williamson County, Ill., daughter of John Minton and Sarah Foster Fletcher. She and Louie Summers were married Dec. 4, 1935. He died April 15, 1974.

Summers had lived in Stoddard County since 1918, and in the Acorn Ridge community all her married life. She attended Bloomfield Church of Christ.

Survivors include a daughter, Beatrice DeLay of Bloomfield; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister and six brothers.
