HENRY UMFLEET JR.

PIEDMONT -- Funeral service for Henry Lawrence Umfleet Jr. of Piedmont was held Tuesday at Ruegg Funeral Home. The Rev. Webster Eaker officiated, with burial in Masonic Cemetery at Piedmont.

Umfleet, 72, died Saturday, Jan. 31, 1998, at his home.

He was born Oct. 29, 1925, in Santa Monica, Calif., son of Henry R. and Nona Bohnsack Umfleet. He and Ruby Proffer were married Sept. 12, 1947.

Umfleet retired from Uregas Co. as plant manager. He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Gary and Larry Umfleet of Piedmont, Terry Umfleet of League City, Texas; a daughter, Brenda Young of Poplar Bluff; a sister, Esther Rowe of St. Louis; a half brother, Loren Umfleet; two half sisters, Mary Hartman and Wanda Pritchett; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandson.
