PATTON -- George "Buck" Powell of Patton died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 1998, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Perryville. He was 70.

He was born May 28, 1927, at Marquand, the son of Roy and Jane Rhodes Powell.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was retired from Superior Electric.

He is survived by two nieces, Barbara Graham of Farmington and Betty Yount of Patton.

He was preceded in death by an infant brother and two sisters.

Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Liley Funeral Home in Patton. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel with the Rev. Julius Mills officiating.

Burial will be at the Whitener Cemetery at Marquand.
