SIKESTON -- Altha L. Heuring, 87, of Sikeston died Tuesday, March 3, 1998, at Sikeston Health Care. She was born Sept. 16, 1910, in Advance, daughter of William Monroe and Flora Mae Devore McClain. She and Gregor Heuring were married Sept. 11, 1934, at Benton. He died Nov. 26, 1995...

SIKESTON -- Altha L. Heuring, 87, of Sikeston died Tuesday, March 3, 1998, at Sikeston Health Care.

She was born Sept. 16, 1910, in Advance, daughter of William Monroe and Flora Mae Devore McClain. She and Gregor Heuring were married Sept. 11, 1934, at Benton. He died Nov. 26, 1995.

Survivors include four sons, William Heuring of Jackson, Lester, Lawson and Bill Heuring, all of Sikeston; five daughters, Mary Slayton, Alvena Johnson and Jerry Ruff, all of Sikeston, Barbara Brown of Benton, Willis Smith of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Willis and John McClain of St. Louis; 26 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, two sisters, and two grandsons.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. Friday.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Preston Palmer officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
