CHARLESTON -- Courtney Tevon Smith, 18, of Charleston died Sunday, March 15, 1998, in Charleston. He was born July 13, 1979, in Sikeston, son of Daryl Hunt of Tamms, Ill., and Essie Smith Wright of Aurora, Ill. Survivors include his parents; a son, D'Marius Tevon Smith of Charleston; a brother, Mujahid Smith of Detroit; three sisters, Tara and Tawana Smith, both of Charleston, and Dania Jones Hunt of Tamms; a grandmother; and great-grandmother...

CHARLESTON -- Courtney Tevon Smith, 18, of Charleston died Sunday, March 15, 1998, in Charleston.

He was born July 13, 1979, in Sikeston, son of Daryl Hunt of Tamms, Ill., and Essie Smith Wright of Aurora, Ill.

Survivors include his parents; a son, D'Marius Tevon Smith of Charleston; a brother, Mujahid Smith of Detroit; three sisters, Tara and Tawana Smith, both of Charleston, and Dania Jones Hunt of Tamms; a grandmother; and great-grandmother.

Friends may call between 6 and 7 p.m. Friday at the Mercy Seat Baptist Church.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Bowden Civic Center. The Rev. Kenneth Holloway will officiate, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery at Charleston.

Sparks Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
