ADVANCE -- Graveside service for Laura Scherer of Strafford will be held at 3 p.m. today at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Springfield. The Rev. Pat Teter will officiate.

Scherer, 88, died Monday, March 23, 1998, at Strafford Care Center.

She was born March 4, 1910, in Advance, daughter of Phillip and Clara Ackley Scherer.

Scherer lived in Advance 13 years.

Survivors include five nieces, Wilma McGuire of Chaffee, Ann Wortham of St. Charles, Alma Schlitt of Oran, Rosemary Fussel of Orlando, Fla., Clifta Cartwright of St. Louis; two nephews, C.J. Littlepage of Riverside, Calif., and Paul Littlepage of Chicago.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
