CHARLESTON -- Funeral Mass for Alphonse Francis O'Rourke of Charleston will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Henry's Catholic Church. The Rev. Rich Lause will officiate, with burial in Calvary Cemetery.

Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today. A prayer service will be held at 6:30.

O'Rourke, 86, died Tuesday, March 24, 1998, at Charleston Manor.

He was born April 23, 1911, at Charleston, son of Elmo Francis and Minnie Sophia Rolwing O'Rourke. He and Brenda Ovaline Wright were married July 8, 1940.

O'Rourke was a farmer, and owned and operated O'Rourke's Store. He was a member of St. Henry's Church and Knights of Columbus.

He was a 1939 graduate of Notre Dame University in South Bend, Ind. He was also an Eagle Scout.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Michael O'Rourke of Charleston; four daughters, Judith Borst of St. Louis, Joyce Ohmes and Jayna Holley of Charleston, Jeanne Erwin of Greenwood, S.C.; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter.
