RICHARD DIAL

PORTAGEVILLE -- Richard P. Dial, 78, of Portageville died Wednesday, May 20, 1998, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born Sept. 20, 1919, in Tiptonville, Tenn., son of Wright and Addie Nobles Dial. He and Janice Montgomery were married Dec. 27, 1943, at Brokerton.

A veteran of World War II, he received two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Richard Dial of Cape Girardeau, John Dial of Boca Raton, Fla.; a daughter, Janice Brown of Olive Branch, Miss.; two brothers, Harold and Marshall Dial of Portageville; a sister, Garnett Dial of Portageville; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.

Friends may call at DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Inman officiating. Burial will be in Portageville Cemetery.
